The assassin, Crash, from my story Cat's Eye. I'm running a contest for people interested in winning a free copy of the book - you can find a link to it here: [link]
I'm not happy with this. The sketch was good, but somehow when I painted it the eyes got a bit too high, and then the neck was at the wrong angle, and then the hair messed up, and so after days and days of tweaking I have finally given up that it's a lost cause. It's my best portrait so far I guess, but some day I'm going to have to redo it from scratch. There's just too much stuff I don't like about it. :sigh:
Perhaps you think it's a lost cause, but I think he's simply beautiful. As they say, it only looks incorrect to the one who birthed it, but to everyone else, it's a perfect composition. I especially find myself lost in all the strokes so rich and deep. If this were a print, I'd buy it. What's the full-size version?
I have the full sized version available but I didn't upload it because it's 8x10 300dpi and I wasn't planning on submitting it as a print. If you want though, I can change that.
Looks great... I don't see anything wrong with the eyes, but if you think it is too high, you can try moving the mask up a little, like just add a bit at the top so it goes farther up the face. The hair does look a bit clumpy on his left. Overall, it looks really good.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Please FULL VIEW all these amazing pieces of ART. Visit the artists pages and give them a :+fav and your support. Thank you for taking the time........
