Fairytale Contest!

Hello everyone! I am currently holding a contest, one that everyone can participate in. This is an art contest, but the prizes are books, namely Fairytale spin-offs written by Robin McKinley - "Rose Daughter", "Spindle's End", "Beauty", and "Deerskin". Also, a surprise fifth book will be awarded to an honorable mention.

Theme: Fairytales! We all know the classic fairytales, but you don't have to be content with just that. Portray any fairytale in any way you want from any culture, it can involve animals, monsters, humans, romance, horror, Disney version, Brother's Grimm - whatever! NOTE: please do not confuse fairytales with mythology! A fairytale is like folklore, mythology deals with gods, creation stories, and similar "human changing" events. Mythology will not be accepted!

Please do not submit anything gory, overly sexual, or offensive.

Submissions: Please send your submissions to me via note. It must say in the description of the piece which fairytale it represents. Pictures must be made specifically for this contest, no old deviations please. Each artist can have a total of two submissions in the contest.

Media: Traditional and digital drawing, painting, photomanipulation, photography, sculpture, jewelry, and everything in between! However, this is an ART contest, so I'm sorry but literary submissions and poetry are not accepted.

Fairytale Contest!

Hello everyone! I am currently holding a contest, one that everyone can participate in. This is an art contest, but the prizes are books, namely Fairytale spin-offs written by Robin McKinley - "Rose Daughter", "Spindle's End", "Beauty", and "Deerskin". Summary: A noble girl, an assassin, and a soul-stealing necklace... what more could go wrong? Sora always dreamed of adventure, but not like this. After being kidnapped by an assassin, she finds herself dumped into a dangerous world of thieves, mercenaries, and magic. A vengeful sorcerer is hot on the assassin's heels, and thanks to her Cat's Eye necklace, it falls into Sora's hands to save the assassin's life. Unfortunately, her necklace has as much an appetite for souls as it does for magic, and it is becoming even more of a danger than the sorcerer that hunts them.

Now she must travel with an unlikely band of outlaws to discover the mysteries of the Cat's Eye, the secrets of her past, and how to destroy a man whose power is more than legendary.
